Giving

Giving

As Christians we believe that all that we have comes from God and is given to us on trust as stewards. We are called to live generously and therefore encourage you to consider the biblical tithe (i.e. 10% of your income) to be a useful minimum.

Most of the church's income is derived from regular giving in the weekly offering each Sunday. Traditionally this has been by cash or cheque but increasingly people are giving by standing order.

Standing Order Mandate

A standing order mandate can be set up for both the Church General Fund and Church Project Fund. Please download the appropriate form below:

Church General Fund This fund pays for the ministries, mission and administration of Canterbury Baptist Church.
Church Project Fund This fund is reserved for the Canterbury Baptist Church redevelopment project.

Cash / Cheque

You can contact us and the church treasurer will arrange for you to receive envelopes for your weekly cash/cheque offering, which is taken up during our Sunday services.

Gift Aid

If you are a UK tax payer, Canterbury Baptist Church is able to reclaim tax paid on all gifts, donations and offerings you make to the church. Please download a Gift Aid Declaration and complete and return a copy to the church office.

Sponsorship

As part of our World Mission we wish to encourage you to consider sponsoring a child at the Kiswa Community Children’s Centre in Kampala, Uganda (see the World Mission section of the website for more information). £5 a month pays for a child at the Centre to receive an education, healthcare and regular meals. To sponsor a child by standing order, please download, complete and return to the church office the relevant Kiswa Community Children’s Centre Standing Order Mandate and Gift Aid Declaration. Thank you.
